your digital home base

Website Design

We have designed websites for clients in a wide range of industries. We also continually refresh sites to ensure all content is up-to-date and attractive. We work primarily in WordPress and Wix, although we have worked in Squarespace, Shopify and other platforms as well. We prefer using WordPress and the Elementor Page builder—read why here.

Whether you are familiar with websites or have no idea what you’re doing, we can either take the wheel or help guide you through the process in a way that makes sense to you.

Each website is different based on the services needed, so the project scope is unique to each client. But, you can rest assured knowing that our goal is to produce a digital home base for you that amplifies your brand, ranks high in search engines, looks good on ALL device sizes, and gives visitors a seamless user experience.

Our Web Design Process

1

Strategize

First, we’ll determine the purpose of your website and review your current site’s content (if applicable) to decide what we want to keep.

We’ll also strategize any new content, and what that might look like as far as creating additional pages or reworking others. This will help us visualize the new site’s navigation, determine the project scope and note the amount of new content to be created.

2

Visualize

Next, we will put together a site map for the navigation of your new site. Then, we’ll discuss the design + aesthetic you are envisioning. You can send us links to websites/designs you really like, or you can give us full creative control–it is totally up to you!

It is around this step that we’ll have you create your WordPress and Elementor accounts. Once those are created, we’ll be ready to move on to the next phase.

3

The Shell Layout

After determining the general design/theme for the site, we will build the shell layout of all pages. We call them “shell” layouts because they are focused more on layout/design than content.

Because some content is still in development at this phase (for most clients, this is usually the case), we use placeholder text/images to give an accurate representation of what it will look like once we get the real content in there.

4

Finalize Content

Next, we’ll review the shell layouts and consider what we like/don’t, what we want to remove and what we want to expand more on. We like designing the shell layouts before finalizing content, because seeing things visually can actually help us determine what content we want/don’t, and where.

This phase looks different for each client. Sometimes we’ve completely removed pages, combined others, or added new ones to the site map–it all depends on ensuring the content, design and navigation compliment each other perfectly.

5

Review, Publish + Monitor

After finalizing content, we’ll conduct a final review for spelling/grammar, links, navigation and layout responsiveness on all screen sizes. Then, we’ll publish your site and test all forms to ensure they are received properly. After that, we’ll share it with the world!

Each month, we’ll perform routine maintenance checkups to ensure everything is running properly on the backend. You can also send us new content/updates as they come, and we can add it to your site for you.
